General Discussion / Re: How many minions do I need?
« on: March 20, 2015, 04:23:54 AM »
thanks for the breakdown! (you're missing a ] at the bold letters)
Guess I'm picking up the extra Syclops pack, as KS1 got me 10 minions.  ::)

Allright, I did a lot of counting, and I hope these will do the trick!

First case is a double case, that should hold: Myth base game (Retail or Kickstarter Captain level!) plus 1 retail expansion (or several small addons)

This loadout would fit:
* 170 small models (heroes/minions/traps)
* 6 sculpted lairs (or more at the cost of minions)
* 28 larger models (captains/commanders)
* 4 mini-bosses
* 10 bosses (pick & pluck)
* 0/15/30 tiles 4x6
* 0/15/30 tiles 6x6
* about 160~165 small cards (sleeved. more if unsleeved)
* about 490~500 large cards (sleeved. more if unsleeved)

There will also be 2 addon options. You can opt for option 1 OR 2.

1. a single box with 4 trays that will hold:

* 0/15/30 tiles 4x6 (or more cards)
* 0/15/30 tiles 6x6 (or more models/tokens)
* 120 additional small models
* 36 additional larger models (captains/commanders/miniboss)
This is enough room for a Kickstarter 1 Captain pledge + a KS2 Minion pledge.

2. a double box with 8 trays that will hold:

* 0/15/30 tiles 4x6 (or more cards)
* 0/15/30 tiles 6x6 (or more models/tokens)
* 236 additional small models
* 108 additional larger models (captains/commanders/miniboss)

This is enough room for one of everything.

All these trays come in the same black boxes Mantis uses for Zombicide.

A small amount of creativity may be required, but this is a very optimal loadout. So, would you be interested? Thoughts? Feedback? Ideas?
Thanks!! Keep an eye on the KS.

Trial solution for Myth: Captain pledge level from 1st KS. (and possibly 1 retail expansion or some of the smaller addons)

Note that the largest 12x12 tiles cannot fit inside the box. They are simply too big.

40mm deep tray for up to 15 tiles 6x6 and 15 tiles 4x6, plus 4x62 hero cards.
40mm deep tray for up to 15 tiles 6x6 and 15 tiles 4x6, plus 4x62 other large cards.
There's a bit of free space here that I hope to be able to use for the small cards.

50mm deep tray for bosses and large minibosses. Ignore the small cards there.

30mm deep tray for captains and some minibosses. Has enough room for tokens. This is going to be a full 30mm "36 heavy infantry" tray. I'm going to use the right tray with the minotaur and player tokens later on.

23mm deep infantry tray for 56 models. 23mm deep infantry tray for 60 models.

Top layer was a trial. I'll place the 30mm half tray with the 10+3 slots here for the minotaur miniboss, tokens, dice and additional models. Easy to take out and put on the table as a handy token tray. (Or something entirely different. Dunno yet)

That leaves another 30mm half tray of space. I used a "fatty tray" from zombicide in the picture to try it out. It does fit the 3D lairs well, as well as tokens, but I'm not sure if that's the best solution. We might need more small models instead, but those only need 23mm, not 30mm, unless they're stood upright. This could also be half a pick and pluck tray so people can customize it for whatever they have left to fit in the box. The elemental minions fit very well in these, but only need 23mm depth.

Thoughts?

For the current Myth KS, I'll add a single box with: 40mm tiles + cards 40mm 36 heavy infantry for more captains and commanders 23mm 60 infantry 23mm 60 infantry (or if needed make that a double box with whatever trays are needed to store the whole deal)

Painting / Re: Alternatives to Green Stuff for Bases

Alternative to greenstuff, which I personally prefer for basing, is Milliput. Easy to apply, easy to work with, dries fast, takes paint very well.

Mantis Creations currently has a new KS if you need some trays for storing your miniatures. Very high quality for low prices ;)
Also good for other games such as Zombicide, Ghostbusters, Krosmaster Arena/Quest, Super Dungeon Explore, Arcadia Quest, Conan, Blood Rage, Warhammer etc.

I've been using Mantis Creations foam trays for my Myth Captain pledge, and I'm 200% happy with the quality and price.

So far, for Myth, I've used:
23mm 56 infantry (for heroes and minions)
23mm 60 infantry (more minions)
40mm half a 36 heavy infantry (a full tray cut in half using the kiss cut) for the captains
40mm half X-wing small ships tray for the bigger captains (muckers and elementals)
I used the other halves for 3D lairs and cards and tokens, and some minions.
50mm pick & pluck for the bosses and small cards
40mm pick & pluck for the smaller tiles and hero cards

check my gallery for pictures.
Scroll right from there for more Myth trays.

40mm Pick & Pluck:

40mm half 30 heavy infantry + half X-wing small ships:

40mm half 30 heavy infantry + half X-wing small ships:

23mm 56 infantry tray:

From these, the current Mantis KS has available:
23mm 56 infantry (for heroes and minions)
23mm 60 infantry (more minions)

I've asked if he'd consider adding 40mm trays as well. You can fit 3 of those in a single box. (a single box can hold either 5x23mm, 4x30mm or 3x40mm depth trays. each tray has a 5mm bottom, and each box has 1 5mm topper). Perhaps also a 50mm P&P for the bosses.

I figure a good box loadout for Myth would be:
Box 1:
-40mm P&P for small tiles and hero cards (8 decks)
-40mm heavy infantry tray for captain models and monster/darkness cards
-40mm X-wing small ships tray for some minibosses, captains, tokens and lairs.
-5mm topper, leaves some room for the player dashboards + darkness board + rulebook.

Box 2:
-50mm P&P for bosses
-23mm 56 infantry for heroes, traps and minions
-2x 23mm 60 infantry for minions
-5mm topper

You could also throw all that together in a double box.
The only things that won't fit are the large tiles.
And I'd have to figure out what's in the new expansions, and how many cards there are etc.

So my question is: would you be interested in such a setup for MYTH?
If there's enough people here willing to buy such a set, I'm sure I can convince Mantis to add 1 pledge level with a double box (assuming £60,- excl. shipping) especially for Myth.
Just reply here if you're interested!

I backed this, awaiting my stiff in wave 1. Been a happy customer of Zealot before, so can't wait!

A single and double case loaded with foam designed to store Zombie themed boardgames and 28mm models used for boardgames and wargames.

Quote
This kickstarter is developed for gamers who play Zcide or any Zombie themed game as there’s a serious lack of specifc storage options for them and a genuine need for one which I believe gamers and Zombie themed game developers will really appreciate. The trays can also be used for game systems using 28mm models.

single, double, single+double and 2x double case pledge levels for Zombicide, but also:

single, double, and 2x double case pledge levels for generic miniatures!
