I don't really factor in the early birds when deciding on a game, if the game looks worth it  for the price I'll get in on it what other people before me got in for doesn't factor in.
Of course I'm in the same boat as Beefcake and have never looked at a KS that looked interesting that still had early birds.

Also international shipping is what I have to check for, I've seen several KS that I would have gone into if the shipping hadn't been ridiculously expensive.
Just went in on battle merchants and am going to try NZposts YouShop service a package collection and forwarding warehouse in the US.

Zombiecide - Abomination pledge level + any add-ons that provided new content My first kickstarter and it was a doozie all delivered as of May
Dream Forge Leviathan A friend pledged this for me as a Christmas present delivered 5-6 months late in May
Zooligans - $5 print n' play level couldn't afford the international shipping on this one so grabbed the print n' play. kickstarter finished got my pdf done and dusted

STILL TO COME:
Rivet Wars - Blitzkrieg pledge level + any add-ons that provided new content went overboard with this one and am not sure it will get enough play to justify the money spent
Zombiecide Season 2 - Fugitive pledge level + any add-ons that provided new content MOAR zombiecide! Going to have a stupid amount of survivors after this but season 1 has paid for its self so far on the Cost vs Time Playing scale and that's not including time spent painting zombies (only half way through the starter box so far)
MYTH! -Double Apprentice! + any add-ons that provided new content Started at captain then went to apprentice for the extra minions, was swayed by the double captain crowd but got stuck working to a deadline and didn't change from apprentice before the KS closed tried to up to apprentice+captain in the pledge manager but but my subconscious tricked me into "accidentally" pledging double apprentice...and I still need more for all my custom monster group ideas!
What the Food - The Works pledge level looks like fun and as a graphic artist I am a sucker for slick art (I have the board game Jamaica, never played it personally but still feel I got my monies worth just from looking at how well done the presentation is.)

I pledged apprentice + every add-on that brought something new to the game (so no additional tiles/minions but yes to treasure expansion etc)
Then I wavered at the end tempted to the dark side by the double captain crowd ... but the Kickstarter ended on my 10 year anniversary and was closed before I could change my pledge.

If you have seen my thread on converting minions you can understand why I added a captain to my apprentice when the pledge manger came out.
With all the conversions buzzing through my head I realised I still didn't have enough miniatures to do everything I wanted to do, but with my pledge locked and wallet empty I had to prioritise and logged into the pledge manager to confirm exact numbers...and found I hadn't added a captain to my order but a second apprentice.

So that's me Z-Ray the accidental Double-Apprentice...and I still want more.

I would rather have a bit of trouble getting a card out of a slot than making sure my cards don't slide all over the place. One game of Zombicide and I was tired of trying to keep cards in place on top of player cards. This game requires even more cards, and tokens on top of that.

In my opinion the real failing for Zombiecide is the experience tracker being attatched to the inventory card, I've made seperate experience trackers and It realy cuts down on card bumping frustrations.

My birthday has been looking more like a kickstarter Christmas; Myth pledge manager invite (go go aprentice/captain!), Zombicide season 1 second shipment and my friend gave me two dreamforge leviathans (these actually were Christmas presents but the kickstater only just delivered.)

Love the new artwork.  Slightly iffy on the female trickster design though; I think I like the concept art more.  God, January is a long way off.....

Same  the original concept sketch  gives a real sense of motion and purpose where as the new one is just a bit more of a generic action pose.

After seeing somebody on ZombiesDash put their zombiecide minis on some I am seriously considering putting these guys on clear acrylic round bases from Litko, clear to let the tile art show through when you have a hoard like in the last game play video and round because it lets me rotate the ones on diagonal corners to face who they are attacking.

Those are superb!
Love the prologue feel of the gathering of heroes, made me even more eager to start playing.
I see you used the female Fighter, was that for the Mongoose visuals or have you already picked your starting lineup?
And I applaud the use of the 'non-standard' ABAB quatrain rhyming scheme for the second set, even if I did keep defaulting back to AABB and getting messed up - it's been a long time since I took lit classes and my head is too full of TV and txt speak now :(

I'm going to play devil's advocate here regarding double captain. First, $42 isn't a trivial amount. That's a large chunk of money that could help keep under budget or be used for new add ons not included in the stretch goals. Second, most of what you are getting extra with double captain vs apprentice are duplicates of things you don't need (double bosses, duplicate tiles, more of the same quest and treasure cards). Yes, you do get extra heroes, but how often do you really want to play with multiples of the same hero? I honestly only see it as a benefit if you are either planing on running multiple games in a large group or planning to sell the extra duplicates.

This was exactly what I was thinking all through the KS plus as an international backer it was an extra $63 for double captain (I didn't need the extra set of lairs because once you chopped the little goblin off the top of the Orc one I felt they were generic enough to use any lair for any monster type so 2 non matching lairs is fine with me)

Apprentice with a set of add-on cyclops captains gave me everything I needed for double lair + a half lair buffer.
I already had two of each hero just as alternate genders (well except the Spriggan would have to proxie a second) and could print up some extra cards to put into the provided hero sleeves and still look good.

I got the loot bag once we got the metal coins, felt they deserved it.

However I got to thinking in my thread on Converting extra minions into custom races
and found a use for all the extra minis (and more!)
However as a disclaimer I am more into the hobby side than gaming I only recently decided to stop working on my 40K armies despite not having played a game since 2004  :o

now its just a question of how many captains can I justify?

I made another thread for my reply.

Was thinking about this some more and another rule would be the double move rules for a cleared tile apply if there are no enemies within 12 inches.
and possibly add a roll to check for traps when moving through any terrain that doesn't contain a spawn, that way we keep the balance of the board game on the table top.

I have to admit my whole reason for wanting free form Myth is an excuse to finish the bad-ass Arena of the Dark Gods I'd gotten half built for warhammer before I gave it up,
can anyone say SLAUGHTERFIELD?

This started as a reply in the Myth skirmish thread and before i knew it I'd written a small book with only one sentence relating to the original topic,
so as not to derail that thread I'll ramble on about it in here instead.

Fishmen? Should I this to mean that you have a custom race in the works? All in all thought this sounds like an idea that I would really want to try. Especially in conjunction with SLAUGHTERFIELD!.

Fishmen is a warhammer in-joke, apparently the development team was brainstorming new race ideas and had left fishmen up on the whiteboard when some fan saw and leaked that the next army was going to be fishmen, so now whenever they are working on something new they call it the fishmen until the idea is fully fleshed out.
So, not quite in the works...well, until now.

I have a bad habit of grandiose plans that never get finished so I had to make a promise to myself - get the game painted first, then make modifications.
in saying that depending on the sweet spot for Cyclopes (Cyclopsii, Cyclopeds?) I may have a few (dozen?) extra that could make some nice fishmen...or frog men...or gollumesque troglodytes...

...I pledged Apprentice + add-ons to get enough  to hit the sweet spot for 2 lairs + 1/2 a lair buffer for all monster types and double captain just gave me more of what I already had enough of, but now with my brain abuzz with the possibilities spare minions and some sculpting clay brings:

Wrapped in bandages the spare Skeletons become Mummies.
The Orcs turn into Fishmen with the addition of fins or Beastmen/Demons with the addition of horns and hooves.
Arachnids with wings become giant wasps, with pincers to make Stagbeetles or join one to an Orc to make a Dryder, two or three linked with an Orc make a Centaurpede captain.
If you scrape off the fur and chop off the ears the Rats tun into Lizardmen.
Sculpt faces over the Cyclops eye make them into Ogres/Neanderthals.
Elementals with Exhaust pipes/cogs become Steam/Clockwork Soldiers.

Then we get into the serious modifications, sculpt some scarfs/turbans onto Orcs and swap the weapons to scimitars with some plastic-card and you have an Ali Baba Boss with 40 Thief minions/captains + a Geni mini-boss.

Hmm I wonder if the wife will agree to Quad-Captains?

I hope they cover their costs... I'm considering allocating another $13. To put this in context, I buy my mobile/cell phones from the US and shipping a phone to Aus usually costs $30-$50 (USPS)

Definately this, I paid MERCS minis $30 shipping on a large order (they have two shiping charges; under 5lbs=$15 & over =$30) when the package arived the shipping invoice showed that they had actualy paid $58 to ship, meaning they ate $28 extra in shipping.
