Other Games / Mantic rumours of Dwarf Kings hold 4

Nice sculpts. I like the original ones so will get in on this probably. Minis could go with Myth too me thinks. Especially the undead troll

Other Kickstarters (Completed) / Cops and Robbers (Relaunch)
« on: April 19, 2014, 05:47:29 PM »
My Kickstarter is back up and running.
Cops and Robbers, the game of corrupt criminals, devious deals and gripping getaways.
Early birds available at $15, regular price $17 and that's New Zealand dollars so it's more like $13 USD and $14.50 USD respectively
114 cards if it's funded with the first stretch goal taking that up to 118.
Cops and Robbers is a card game for 2-6 players, ages 8+. The objective of the game is to be the Robber with the most cash at the end of the game. You will need to be the Robber that uses his cards most wisely to steal loot from wherever you can, including your fellow criminals. You'll need to create the fastest getaway car with the best driver if you want to evade the cops and you'll need to play dirty tricks on your opponents to send them to the slammer. The game is quick to pick up, hard to put down, and each game brings something new. With only five cards in your hand will you decide to hold on to the cards that send others to jail or that help you getaway? Will you create the best getaway car only to have it stolen from under your nose? Will you steal from other peoples' stash only to be caught by a nasty surprise? Form alliances with other robbers, then break them to steal their hard earned cash. It's all up to you. The same strategy that worked in one game may not work in the next.

now with $16 early birds for any that missed the $15 ones.

Gameplay and intro vids on the site too :)

Other Discussion / Occulus for facebook
« on: March 27, 2014, 02:14:35 AM »
So have you heard that the occulus rift that raised a few million on KS has now been sold to facebook for  $2,000,000,000 (2billion)
Thoughts on this?

Having not backed it myself I don't really care and really just hope it will make the product sell cheaply. I understand backers feeling on being taken for a ride but isn't this what kickstarter is about really? The backers gave this project the lift it needed to get underway and it has skyrocketed from there. Having looked into this product I definitely thought it is the new way for gaming etc and they would have eventually either made a truck load more cash from it or gone bust when another company developed something similar but better. Really it's just moved on a lot quicker than people expected.
If I had backed it, yep I'd feel a bit miffed but as long as I got my product I'd be happy in the end.
I think some people are just confusing the whole backing thing with investing.

Other Kickstarters (Completed) / Manifest by Schilmil games

A game by a New Zealand company. Looks to have some interesting mechanics to it with some worthwhile pledge levels

Other Games / Heroquest anyone?
« on: September 14, 2013, 07:16:18 PM »
I just read this on the lead adventure forum and thought people here would be really interested.
I know I am.

A personal dream come true for me. This is what got me into the hobby at the start of the 1990s:

- Spanish company GameZone will create a new heroquest 25th aniversary edition.
- They have distribution rights to Spain but not to other countries, but they will release the game in multiple languages and there are plenty of spanish online shops with worldwide shipment.
- They may use a crowdfunding campaign but it's not confirmed.
- There will be initially four heroes in male and female versions.
- Furniture and tokens will be all in 3D (resin) instead of cardboard.
- The board will be reversible (two in one).
- There won't be fimirs, but there will be equivalent reptilian creatures.
- It won't be overly expensive (in line with Descent V2).

Other Games / My Dungeon Tiles - now available!
« on: September 11, 2013, 09:29:09 PM »
I'm so happy! ;D I sculpted these tiles a while back and they have become available to the general public through zealot miniatures in the UK. I imagine these qould actually make quite a cool looking scenario for myth too. Especially with the rat men and/or the arachnids as foes. The tiles wouldn't quite be big enough though (but I'm going to work on a few more in a few weeks) 1 inch squares
Here are some pics:

General Discussion / Orcs vs Arachnids etc
« on: September 08, 2013, 03:51:41 PM »
I haven't really actually looked through the game rules properly yet :-[ (too much other reading I am doing) but do you think it would be possible to set up a game that doesn't involve any heroes but each player takes charge of one or more of the evil factions? Maybe each person could take one equally balanced boss, have some sort of points value for captains, minibosses, minions etc and get them to duke it out kind of like points based army game.
Think it could work?

Painting / Beefcakes test paint schemes.
« on: July 21, 2013, 10:36:04 PM »
I had a few second hand GW skaven and have finally managed to g around to painting them. I'll be using these as ideas to help me decide how to paint up my myth minis. I'll probably give the rat men darker brown/black fur instead of this light brown shown here.

Other Games / ORCS!
« on: July 12, 2013, 05:07:18 PM »
I wasn't sure wether this should go in the kickstarter section or not. It's an indiegogo campaign (another crowd funding source) for some really good orc miniatures that went OOP some time ago and are now being bought by another company. Sculpts by the talented Paul muller

Other Games / Cops and Robbers
« on: July 12, 2013, 12:44:29 AM »
I'm working on a card game called "Cops and Robbers" I have the rules for it all fleshed out and have convinced my brother (with a small amount of cash) to do some artwork for it (he's a professional animator). Just putting this out there as today I did some more in depth playtesting with the children in my class at lunch time and they really enjoyed it. Some time I'll be asking for some more playtesters to help me out with it but that will be a long way off as my bro is still working on the huge amount of cards I have asked of him to do in his spare time. Just a project I'm working on and as I'm excited about it (and had a few after work beers) decided I'd share it here as I thought people here would be interested in this sort of thing. :)

Other Games / Warhammer Quest iOS
« on: May 31, 2013, 03:42:19 AM »
If you played Warhammer quest as a board game, then it's now out on iPad. I heard somewhere that there is meant to be around 25 hours of sologameplay. I'll be getting this some time to give it a go.

Other Kickstarters (Completed) / 3d printer
« on: May 30, 2013, 11:43:24 PM »
The Buccaneer is a 3d printer that is well within a regular hobbyists price range, $347 + shipping ($150 for me) I'm getting one but a bit gutted that I missed the early bird special as I was fast asleep because I had been waiting for is one in advance so now I have to pay the full price instead of $100 off.

Other Kickstarters (Completed) / Red box goblins and dwarves
« on: May 20, 2013, 04:34:22 AM »
