I've Kind of sorta answered some of my question, But I only see 4 Hero Ability Tokens listed in the back of the rule book.

Shadow Token
- Image of a Rat in Shadows
- Brigands Hero Ability

Hero's Edge Token
- Image of a hand holding a blue flaming sword.
- Assuming to be the Soldier's Hero Ability

Fool's Errand Token
- Image of a Jack in the box head on the back of an arrow
- Archer's Hero Ability

Glacier's Grip Token
- Looks like snow storm
- I'm assuming this is the Apprentice's Hero Token(?)

What is the fifth Hero token?

Rules Discussion / Tokens for the Heros

Guys can you help me out?

I watched a tutorial where the Apprentice received a token during the set up of the hero board (I missed the name of the token and don't know what it looks like)

I've deduced that the Brigand gets the In Shadow Token, partly because the token looks like a rat in shadows which makes sense to the character, and that I saw a gameplay video of the Brigand where when he slipped into shadows the hero statue was replaced with the Shadow Token.

Can anyone else help me out and tell me what the names of the tokens that the other heroes may have starting out with?

Hi Guys!!!!

Alright, I'd first like to give my Character/Artistic background before I start asking my questions.

I like to consider myself a nerd, loving all things comics, big Star Trek fan, list can go on and on and on, and take it from my wife I will geek out with the rest of them on ANYTHING that falls under the "nerd/geek/dork" umbrella and truly enjoy doing it.  With that being said:

I've never played a dungeon crawl before Myth, I embarrassingly dabbled in DnD, loved the concept (since I'm a huge fantasy book reader), hated the execution.  There was a lot of mundane rules and the failure was really in the DM, one bad DM can ruin the entire game.  I started to notice the Warhammer figurines and the great care people took with them, and to be honest my thought was you have to be a SERIOUS nerd well beyond my pay-grade to be into that, pfffff get a life....

Fast Forward to Myth, played the KS advanced copy at a friends house cause I'm always up for new stuff, fell in love with it, and bought it the day it released.  So here I am now wanting to paint my minions and heroes.  So first question:

1.) Paint.  Which Paint is the best paint to use, do any of you have a preference, is there such a thing?
2.) Application, I'm not an artist, my stick figures suck.  So I don't have a clue as to how to even begin.  My assumption is this - If, for instance, an orc has green skin, you'd paint the Entire figure green, then the next thing you would do is paint his clothes on, etc.  Am I correct, what is your guys' method to the madness that is painting tiny ass minions and heroes?
3.) Clear Coats again, similar to my Paint question, is there a specific brand you use?

4.) Is there a Youtube tutorial and painting figurines of this size (I'm sure there is), maybe one specifically for Myth characters or one that could be considered a really good tutorial that you can direct me too.

Thanks Guys!

Rules Discussion / Re: Question on Gold Hordes/Traps/Yardu/Specials.

Thanks RemiBureau!

I may have more questions but as of right now this resolves my main ones.

Rules Discussion / Question on Gold Hordes/Traps/Yardu/Specials.
« on: May 31, 2014, 01:09:47 AM »
1 AM Questions:

I've only played a handful of times and have been getting the the rule book slowly, and there are still some Major/Minor Details (depending on your views) that I'm missing and just not grasping, so I haven't played them.

First Question: Traps, how do you populate them, how do they work, etc?
Second Question: Gold Hordes, how do you populate them, what function do they serve if any other than just getting gold, How do you pick them up, do you dispense the spoils amongst the other players or does the one who collects take all?

Third Question: Yardu needs two successful hits of 8 to do damage to him, say for some reason you only have your base dice pool, if you roll an 8 or higher on the dice do you get to re role to see if you do damage, or is it considered an automatic miss?

Fourth Question: I don't get how the specials for Captains, Mini Bosses, and Bosses work, some one please explain this to me?

Rules Discussion / When do you role a non combat action

I've played a handful of times since purchasing the game and I've never had to role a non-combat action.

When would I do this?

Rules Discussion / Question on Building a Dice Pool
« on: May 22, 2014, 01:46:17 AM »
This is probably a dumb question but it's spawned from playing the walk through game found on Mercs website.

When building the dice pool, using the soldier with all starting gear (Fire Poker (+1d10), Shield (+1d10), Tunic (+1 vitality), you take the base pool 1d10 + 1 Fate Die then add another d10 for Fire Poker and Another d10 for the shield, correct?  Leaving you with 3d10 and 1 fate die?

While playing the walk through game, it was only having us build the dice pool with just the base pool + 1d10 for the shield.  Never once doing so for the Fire poker.  I thought it was because the first real attack you use is this The Yoke is Heavy, which is a shield attack, but then it specifically called out adding just 1d10 for his Shield when doing a Charging attack and never once referenced the +1d10 given for having the fire poker equipped  at any point in throughout rest of the walk through?

So I'm confused now.

Let me rephrase my question:

Say we control AP really well, get through the hero cycle and we've only generated 4 AP, we go through the Hero deck Phase, the refresh phase, one monster type was activated moving AP up to 5...

Darkness doesn't activate, but do the minions we attacked activate and move/attack?

I've watched brief play throughs, and have only seen them where each hero plays and the darkness activates.

But, what if you finish your play through and the darkness doesn't activate?  Do the minions/monsters move/attack still or do you move onto the next hero cycle once you get through the hero deck cycle and refresh cycle?

Rules Discussion / Question on Movement Modifiers
« on: May 19, 2014, 05:33:15 AM »
Hey Guys - perhaps this topic has already discussed and if it was if someone could direct me to the thread that answers this question.

With Movement Modifiers, I understand that if it says anything like "-1 TN" or "+1 TN", etc. that you gain or subtract that from the TN to hit, so on and so forth.  But, what does it mean if it just says a "Yes" or a "No" underneath your movement type?  We've been playing and for the most part ignoring movement modifiers unless it gives a direct modifier.  But I'm pretty stumped on the "Yes" and "No" phrasing.
