I started out with the starter quest so as to get a handle on the rules. The Heroes involved were the Soldier and the Apprentice and they completed the quest successfully.

There's also the Downloadable starter mission. Not necessarily on par with the story quests but something to introduce the game and explain certain rules so that you don't have to explain them in every video.

Well I suppose that works but it's much more fun to say "Britannica World Language Edition of Funk & Wagnalls Standard Dictionary" than "Myth." On the other hand Myth is more fun to play than Britannica World Language Edition of Funk & Wagnalls Standard Dictionary. Though if you are looking up words then Britannica World Language Edition of Funk & Wagnalls Standard Dictionary is a bit more useful than Myth though if you are looking up on of a limited amount of words that is in Myth's Glossary then it is faster than using Britannica World Language Edition of Funk & Wagnalls Standard Dictionary. I hope this helps.

No warping of the Darkness board, which seems to be common.

Some slight warping of a couple hero boards.

I had some trouble with warping but I fixed that with the entire set (really only two books but it sounds more impressive to say set) of the Britannica World Language Edition of Funk & Wagnalls Standard Dictionary. Truly, the might of the written word is impressive indeed

The way I understand it is that you roll 5FD and then stack the effects.

The answer to what is gained from Non-Story sessions is "fun" my friend, "fun".

Would be interesting to watch. A good one would be the starter scenario that can be downloaded from MERCS so that people can easily learn the basic rules by watching it and also playing the same scenario.

It is also stated in Extended Gameplay 4.

Fan Created Content / Enchanted Roots Trap
« on: March 18, 2014, 11:42:39 AM »
So I was playing Myth (go figure ::)) and I had the falling ceiling trap come up for the 4x6 grass tile that has road on it. It struck me that even though this trap doesn't fit with the tile I could still use it by simply changing the traps name and pretend that instead of the ceiling collapsing there would be roots shooting out off the ground to block the hero's path. To try and keep the aesthetics I used the 6x6 tile that has stairs coming down from some sort of stone structure but this caused the problem of the tile being the wrong size. To surmount this last problem I used, in order from the stairs end to the other, a 1x2 stone wall, a 1x1 pillar, and a 1x2 stake fortification on either side to make it possible to only walk on an area 4x6 in length. I thought I would just share this in case anyone else wanted to use it.

I figured that the story for something like what I described would go something like this.

"As you pass through the archway you hear a rumbling about you. As you look for the source of the sound you see roots beginning to grow across the stone around round you as well as tunnels that start crisscrossing the ground as if created by large demented moles. As you prepare to run down the path you hear a faint chittering as crawlers beginning to drop out of trees to block your way."

The bit about crawlers came from the fact that I dropped a hunting pack of crawlers in a somewhat staggered formation at the edge of the first tile and across the second one. The amount used obviously depends on how many heroes you are using.

At the moment I am fine with not getting this. Later depends on the Myth stuff that apparently might show up.

The Kickstarter Story Quest Booklet is for Minis and Realm tiles that I currently don't have :'(. So until I get them I'm not reading ahead.

Got mine around 1-2 hours ago. ;D

Grant Me Serenity, part 1

We understand there has been quite the hubbub here as of late, hehe. We sympathize. It has been a roller coaster here as well. It appears as though you had just about ran out of patience. I know I had. I was very harsh with them a couple weeks ago, unjustly so.

Let me start by saying the games arrive at our shipper’s Indy hub, Wednesday February 26th. After they arrive, we schedule the two containers for delivery to our warehouse: we have a window of four work days (Feb 27-March 4). We have roughly 2-3 hours to unload each container.

Flush with relief and brimming with optimism, you would be right in wondering what had happened that the games are being delivered a month late. We don’t know all the details, but we do know that the games were not going to be let through San Francisco. Ever the resourceful ones, our shippers removed them and sent them up and through Vancouver.

There are many things we don’t know about the shipping process but what I know is that if our shipper BDP hadn’t been proactive in finding a solution, we would very likely still have games sitting in San Francisco customs and this update would be much different. It is why we work with them. The delay wasn’t ideal, but it was much better than the alternative.

I have been told (in no uncertain terms) that you all have never seen a couple of the models finished. Sorry to keep you waiting, thanks for your patience.

After the games are safely snugged away in the warehouse (I’ll snap some pictures and do another update), we’ll start filling base game orders. And yes, we are still going to have to fill base game orders. The issues that forced it before are still in place. We will fill domestic orders for the base game starting the day after we have brought the games in. It will be interesting to see how many of the orders we can fill per day. We have estimated 200-500/day depending upon people present. Regardless, when your base game ships you will receive an email and tracking info. I am sure people will begin posting about how they received emails their game has shipped. We’ll be moving as fast as we can, please be patient.

We expect to be deep into fulfillment for two weeks.

If you have not, I would suggest any backers double-check their shipping address this week. These are the last days to update addresses. We can still change addresses: email changes to
Grant Me Serenity, part 4

We also plan to launch MegaCon Games next KS during the month of March. It is called MERCS: Recon. It is a fully cooperative game in the MERCS world. The game will launch with game rules and how to play videos. It has been ready for a bit now, but we wanted to start shipping Myth before we launched it. Every delay in shipping pushed Recon back further and tested our patience more.

In the end, we are very glad to have waited. We want our past, present, and future backers to trust we can fill our first KS before they double-down on our second. We’ve learned a bunch from the Myth KS. Let’s face it, Myth ended up being 5 times the size originally planned. We tried to be on time, but failed. We have already setup the Recon KS to be more streamlined and much easier to understand.

MERCS: Recon

If you are a Myth backer you will be getting an update in early March that directs you to Recon.
Grant Me Serenity, part 5

Keith and wife are still pregnant. She is now four days overdue. As I said, I am sure it is setting up to happen the day we schedule the first shipment. They are extremely excited but have just about ran out of patience.

We know these last four weeks have been tough for us all (backer, creator, and potential father alike) but sometimes you have to trust. When I used that word last week, some people pushed back saying we have not earned any trust because we have delivered nothing. I would argue that is the very meaning of trust. We have kept you informed every step of the way, inviting you into the process like very few KS projects. It is simply the way we work. You can expect the same process with Recon. In essence, that is what KS is about. If you trust in the product and the people, you back it. As the first Myth KS is winding down, we hope you feel your trust has not been misplaced. And we trust we’ll see you over in the Recon KS.

So it seems that things are starting to move apace. On a side note; Recon looks sort of interesting. Can't wait to hear more.
