Please post your miniature and other game storage solutions, either retail, custom purchased or home-made.  Links, tutorials and pictures are all welcome here!

I'll try to keep a short list of the most useful links at the top.

Other Solutions:

Magnetic Miniature Storage

The utility of this thread has grown far beyond its original intent.

Original Post:
When Mercs announced the BattleFoam addon, they mentioned they were working on carry options for all the extra minis. It looks like there's custom mercs products available at their website; have they mentioned whether there will be more battlefoam options for Myth?  I was hoping it would be available before the end of the pledge manager.

Also, I haven't seen an updated card count for everything; is there something comprehensive somewhere I'm missing?

Thanks!

Original QA about battlefoam here:
Q: How much does the battle foam hold?
A: The battlefoam inserts at this point hold all the base game and 20 more figures. We are working on a solution to find a home for the other miniatures. No option is off the table

The only final card count I saw was in update 48.
Quote
We have done the card breakdown for 1 Captain and every add-on with cards.

Heroes - 31 Cards each (they have their own sleeves)

Large Cards: 63 x 88 mm (blackjack)

the Darkness Cards - 12 in the Base Game + 78 in the Extras/Stretch
Trap - 18 in the Base Game
Quest - 45 in the Base Game + 33 in the Extras/Stretch

186 Total

Small Cards: 44 x 67 mm (mini)

Treasures - 96 in the Base Game + 48 in the Extras/Stretch
144 total

The only thing I think may not be included is the Fire Drake boss deck. This announcement included all the stretch goals and addons up till the planned end. The fire drake is the only stretch that I believe may not have been included as it was like way way way last minute to add the 900k stretch. All the others had been included up till that one in this tally. I upped each one by 1 just to pay it safe and allow for breakage of sleeves at some time

Even with the additional fire drake if you got 4 big and 3 small you would be ok as boss decks have ten cards if it wasn't included bringing you to 196 with 4 to spare. If it was included then you have 14.

Thanks!  I think I'll just get 5/4 so I have extras.

Are we assuming that count includes the SLAUGHTERFIELD decks?

5 big, 4 small? That's what I'm going with.

Trumby I'd assume that count does NOT include the slaughterfield add-on.

Trumbly that card count was announced by Mercs to go through all addons and stretch goals that they had in the works through the end of the campaign. if you get 4/3 card sleeves you should be fine. The only one I question was the firedrake boss cards as that wasn't a planned stretch goal when they made this announcement. Even then a 4/3 count should be fine. 5/4 count just allows for further comfort for accidental miscounts, breakage future expansions etc.

Also, these are NOT KS exclusives. They'll most likely be available retail.

I'm just buying more now because I can be clumsy sometimes, and they're probably going to be more expensive later on.

I don't imagine they'll be much more expensive. Average retail for card sleeves is $5-10 depending. So, I don't see them going over $10. I think though you'll be safe with 5 large 4 small.

Card sleeves are cheap and easy to get (check out Mayday Games, for example).  The BattleFoam, however, is neither.  That's what I have the most questions about.  Do any of you guys or gals have any suggestions/ tutorials/ online resources for making your own foamy troop carriers?

Here is something that I ran across while looking into storage solutions. While not "foamy" it seems that it will do the trick.

Tutorial for how to make your own foam trays - then you just need a carrying case.  (Those hard-sided picnic coolers with handles work pretty well, and you can usually get them pretty cheap at a big-box store).

I just use Plano boxes.  I have a few to store all my old Monsterpocalypse stuff.
I think Duncan looks like a tiny little girl.

But, seriously, my excitement for this game grows with each passing week.  Like a fetus.

What I'm telling you guys is that I'm pregnant with MERCS' baby.  I hope it's a tailless.

Sabol army transports are a relatively inexpensive option. In particular the Motor Pool case, which I seem to remember getting a couple of in the $40-60 range.

Foam's overkill for plastic miniatures, unless you plan to transport them regularly.

Since most human-szed plastic miniatures are lightweight, get a shallow box with a lid and sticky-tax the miniature to the bottom. I'm not sure if this will work for larger heavier models. I'll probably just get a deeper box, line it with thicker layers of foam sheets, and cut out space for the miniatures. I've stored larger bulkier figures in a box with scraps from foam sheets as packing material.

A cheap easy way to make foam storage boxes for metal figures is to get a box, cut a foam sheet from a craft store to fit, and sammich the figures between two foam sheets. You can use a deeper box, put in the foam sheet(s), and cut out the foam into spaces to store larger figures, and ones with sticking out bits.
