Nice! Could you use that as a Spriggen stand in?

It's quite big, 65mm to the top of the head.
I'm planning on getting the spriggan anyway :)

That is neat, but, man, I'm gonna have a hell of a time getting that many shades meaningfully stuffed into those tiny cracks, haha. My hands are not as steady as they need to be for this, but I'll give it my best!

I think that may only be 4 shades come to think of it, from red growth rough to the white.
I actually sculpted this guy myself too, and moulded and cast it too :)

Seriously!? Awesome man! Do you do a lot of sculpting? Because this treeant thing looks very professional.

I like the treeman beefcake.

GW lahmiam medium is very nice for source lighting. You  can mix some colour of your choice to it and apply to the area to be lighted. It still shows the underlying colour. It gives you an easier and thicker glaze then you would normally get with paint/ink and water.

Not a huge amount of sculpting really. I've made a couple of cool things but its faces that really stuff me up, so making something that doesn't need to look human and doesn't need to have super smooth surfaces is a lot easier than sculpting a person.

Well, I am a girl, so I'm not sure what showing the dragons to other girls would accomplish for me, but okay? And, yeah, I didn't wash anything, I didn't even prime these, it's just straight acrylic paint. I didn't even thin the paint. I literally had no idea what I was doing when I painted these, which is why I'm going to be stripping and redoing them.

I might try the washes for the chests and spawn points, though I'm trying to figure out how I can make the spawn points "glow"... I kind of want the eye sockets of the skulls and the cracks of the rock to look like they're glowing with arcane energy or something like that, I'm just not sure how to accomplish such a thing. And I didn't do any kind of shading/highlighting, I figured, "It's a 3D figure. It will make it's own highlights and shadows in the light." but I guess I was wrong on that.

Oh, I'm just saying that it's good to have a second opinion of your work. You can easily over-criticize yourself with miniatures! Girls tend to be quite versed in cuteness. You could use a young nephew, but don't expect to get the dragons back. :D I think your dragons look da*n cute, so don't strip 'em, at least until you've completed the other miniatures. Cartoony figures can sometimes get away with saturated (straight from the pot) paint.

Miniatures are too small to let natural light create highlights and shades. You have to do that. That's why a common method of painting is "basecoat - shade - highlight". I haven't painted chibi figures, but know there are threads on BoardGameGeek, CMON, and other boards specifically for SDE figures.

As for glowing, that's on the intermediate side. For glowing eyes, I'd search on "miniature painting glowing eyes". For glowing cracks, I'd search on "miniature painting lava" or "miniature painting fire". I think painting glowing cracks (as lava) is the easiest, but haven't done it myself.

Good luck (and don't be depressed)! (:

Skolo did you take lighting advice from JJ Abrams while he was doing Star Trek? Cause that's not nearly enough lens flair and bloom.

I also love how you bent the laws of physics and made the shadow appear on the same side as the light. ;)

Here are my Munchkins, got bored of the plain colours haha. This was a quick paint and I wanted to keep the "cartoon" colors to be similar to the cards and images in the game.

Pictures are from my cell phone so the quality isn't the greatest. I need to get a new camera eventually lol

The angle of the minis makes some of them look like they have a muzzle. ;D

You did a nice job with that metallic paint. These look pretty good.
