Trap Cards
« on: March 26, 2014, 04:56:48 PM »
Something I decided i needed to have at the table when playing is a deck of cards with the traps on them for easy reference.
Here is my proof of concept. If anyone is interested I'll provide a link to pdfs when i'm done. you can grab the files here: Google Drive

I'm interested!
I think Duncan looks like a tiny little girl.

But, seriously, my excitement for this game grows with each passing week.  Like a fetus.

What I'm telling you guys is that I'm pregnant with MERCS' baby.  I hope it's a tailless.

Looks good.

You might put the tile size (6 X 6, etc) somewhere on the card.  I know the picture shows the tile size, but it was a request that a few people put out on some trap cards that I was working on.

I almost did put the tile size on it, but decided against it for some reason...hmm...

They look good, but I agree - putting the tile size they should go with seems like a given, from a design standpoint.  It's one of the most prominent organizational pieces of information for the trap.

I'll adjust the header and see if I can work up the rest of the 4x6 cards tomorrow. Might have to play wonky britches with the text on some of them to make it all uniform (read: tiny type size,  :(). Thanks for the input guys.

If people would find it useful, sure, but that information is already on the darkness board..

You select the tile, then roll for the trap... so... yeah.

that information is already on the darkness board.

So is the fate die symbol, but that is on there.  The point being - the cards aren't necessary in the first place, but if they are going to be done, why not put all relevant info on them?

The way I see it, the cards serve as a stand in for flipping through the book at the table. Any information that may be reasonably included to help both identify them and impart the necessary information can and should be put on them. Roll fate, check the chart, pull the card, play the game.  ;D

Finished the 4x6 Trap cards. I made two flavors. One with bleed and one without. The margins on the document are formatted to work with both A4 and Letter sized paper.

You can download them here: Google Drive

Here's what they look like:

Without bleed

Agent these are really great! thanks for the work.  One question though what is the difference between blood/no bleed?   My eyes can not see the difference (though I have old eyes)
Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment

Bleed is just a fancy/gruesome word that denotes extra art around the edges so you can trim the product to it's final size and not have any unprinted paper showing.
