Over at the Official FAQ, Brian has been sending some strong positive vibes to quell the mobs.

http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1153597/official-faq-and-walkthrough

The really good news is that he as agreed to reprint the rule book and include it in the next KS. Also, he indicated they will reprint updated hero cards at cost for any wanting. This seems to appeal to many of the people. Obviously, the reprint of the base game for retail would have these changes as well. I suppose it would be on the second printing run, whenever that would be for Megacon games.

Kudos to the team for coming back strong and assuaging the masses.  :D

Dan, it's good that they've done this and reacted to correct their own mistakes.

But people upset they got a substandard, badly-worded rulebook are not 'mobs'.

I am pleased MegaCon have done this, and they seem to have done it well, but it was completely necessary.

Hopefully we can all move forward and enjoy the game now, including people who buy it at retail.

Alright, I was mostly being facetious :), but I understand your point. The people certainly had a right to demand results and I feel many of us were effected by some of the more abrasive folks.

That was generally who the 'mob' would  be, but truthfully, I think it was a small percentage. Most people over there were pretty civil, even in the heat of the debate.

By the way, would you pay for a card reprint?

It's very good news indeed. I'd be perfectly ok with just having an online FAQ to work out all the key points, but a replacement rulebook will be awesome.

Reprinting the cards with updated text will be great, whether I get them or not depends on what they cost, and how big the changes are. If it turns out to be a sort of 'everything fixed up for $10' deal, then I'd definitely do that just to make the game easier to teach to new players (I don't mind rules ambiguities but I do hate explaining the 'why' of things like card text to over-picky newbies when I'm teaching).

Hope these gestures result in nice boosts to Recon's funding. I think it looks fantastic and well...the more stretch goals the better ;)

I probably would.  I've only played with non-fans, and plan to continue doing so.  Having the cards legible by people that only kinda sorta get the game is a big plus

Yes!  Especially if it the reprint came with an exclusive "Typo-free Since 2015!" card!  Because.... you know.

long as the cost is not that outrageous, I will buy replacement cards.
Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment

Yeah, I'd pay for a card reprint. Not ideal, but at this stage, I just want the game working well.

I'm happy MegaCon are trying to fix their mistakes, and hope we can all go forward feeling more positive now.

I feel worse about this.  <  >:( >
I think Duncan looks like a tiny little girl.

But, seriously, my excitement for this game grows with each passing week.  Like a fetus.

What I'm telling you guys is that I'm pregnant with MERCS' baby.  I hope it's a tailless.

I've felt positive the whole time.  Nothing that I've seen from those guys made me doubt that they'd do right by us.

I have wondered about what will occur after the release of the second wave. Issues with new characters, quests, monster mechanics, and other areas may spark up again.

I hope MCG have learned much from this last stretch of adversity (caused in part by their own actions) and will be ready to respond quickly and efficiently to any difficulties that arise.

I will be getting my copy before many, so I think I might just make my very first video mash up for this event. Depending how long it takes to get things to Canada, I think some people in the states may still get theirs fairly soon after.

Anyone interested in watching this? It would feel better putting it together to an appreciating audience, or rather having an audience period.  :o

Yeah, but while you play, you have to read your verse and poetry aloud! :)

When they say at cost, do they mean at their own expense, or we pay what it costs them? Cause honestly, they should be the one paying for misprints.

At cost means we would pay the cost they incurred.

Misprints sure, clarifications are a little murkier.  Lots of games make improvements in their second edition and sell that.  Whether it's too early for a second edition?  ehh, it's not like I paid full price for it.

There are plenty of misprints that need fixed however.
