Story Quests converted into Chapter Quests
« on: April 29, 2014, 08:08:59 PM »
As the title indicates, I've been turning the existing Story Quests from the rulebook into Chapter Quests.  I've worked up 4 of the Stories into around half a dozen Chapters each and posted them on my blog:
No Rest For The Weary    http://transitivegaming.blogspot.com/2014/04/myth-story-quests-rendered-into-chapter_3690.html
The Stone Of Life   http://transitivegaming.blogspot.com/2014/04/myth-story-quests-rendered-into-chapter_29.html
The Mad King   http://transitivegaming.blogspot.com/2014/04/mad-hermit-remixed.html
Common People     http://transitivegaming.blogspot.com/2014/04/myth-story-quests-rendered-into-chapter_25.html

Why would I do such a crazy thing?
  • Free-Questers deserve Titles, too!
  • I prefer the flexibility and creative control of Free-Questing to the more rigid nature of the Story Quests. Deciding what tile to place, and what to populate/decorate it with, is part of the fun.
  • My group doesn't always have time to play an entire official Act in one sitting, and this makes it easier to stop in the middle.
  • We're less inclined to waste energy hunting after every annoying rules question if the rulebook isn't sitting open on the table while we play. It makes it easier to just roll with our gut instinct and research the "correct" call between games.
  • A few of the stories had ambiguities or rules flaws, and this was an opportunity to patch them with house rules.

Sample card:

That one uses one of Tom Howard's card frame templates (available at BGG). In addition, I styled the text to feel more like it was being told by an adventurer telling stories in a tavern, which was part of the original pitch of what Myth represented back in the KS days. (Credit to Justin N for coming up with the idea to retext the cards that way.) Right now only two of the four conversions implement both of these styles, but I plan on updating the others to match relatively soon-ish.

Aký veľký je tento veľký zdroj údajov? Koľko údajov môžem získať, pretože mám podozrenie, že tento veľký obsah databázu odstránil?
